SFH VISION
 
 By 2011, Society for Family Health will demonstrate significant impact on HIV/AIDS, family planning, malaria and diarrhoeal diseases in Nigeria, with a consistent focus on the poor.  Using evidence based behaviour change communications, our key achievements will include:


SFH’s Disability Adjusted Life Years
(DALYS) double (with particular reference to the areas of SFH services and interventions).

50% of SFH’s programme beneficiaries are the poor.

50% of rural pregnant women and children under 5 sleep under long lasting insecticide treated nets in at least two focus states.

Modern contraceptive prevalence rate increases from 11% to 16%.

Consistent condom use among high risk groups increases by 20%.

External Engagement Division

is a service division that cuts across programmes and projects. The divisional goal is  contributing to improving enabling environment for programmes implementation of safer sexual and reproductive health, Maternal and Child Health and behavior change at national and community levels and to promote the corporate image of Society for Family Health.

Policy and Advocacy

The division leads the process in advocating and influencing policies for implementation of all Society for Family Health programmes for the poor and vulnerable Nigerians through advocacy to stakeholders, programmes implementation, engagement and collaboration with policy makers at all levels.

Media and Public Relations
The External Engagement Division has the responsibility of promoting the corporate image of Society for Family Health through responsible advocacy. The Division disseminates information by active engagement with the media and networks through placement of adverts in National dailies and magazines, press conferences, media roundtable in promoting the programmes and corporate image of SFH.

Partnerships, Government Liaison and Collaboration
Building partnerships has been the strategic thrust of SFH, anchored in improving corporate relations and image promotion of the organization for programme success. The division builds relationship with Faith Based Organisations (FBOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs), support groups of PLWHA, and other stake holders.

Event Management
The division is responsible for organising and managing corporate events including supporting all divisions to plan for activities such as programmes/ project launches, dissemination of best practices including important research findings.
